Injuries Muddle up Week 11 Forecast
Cedric Benson, Michael Turner, Ronnie Brown and Brian Westbrook went down in Week 10, and all of us who want to get in on the "action" are going to have to wait for a report on their availability for next week' games, before deciding on what decisions to make; not only whether or not an important player is available, but whether or not there is a talented player to take his place.
Michael Turner's ankle injury appears serious enough, especially if it is a high ankle sprain, which usually means multiple weeks to recuperate. Jason Snelling did very well after taking over on Sunday, and, while not a "Burner' Turner, might prove an able replacement. The Falcon's number 2 back, Jerious Norwood, has been out with injury, but his possible return, teaming with Snelling, would be very positive news for the team.
Return man Bernard Scott did a serviceable job in Benson's place, considering he was facing Pittsburgh, even making a long TD run, and Brian Leonard and the Bengal's new signing, Larry Johnson, could form a good tandem with Scott. Benson he thinks that he will be able to play, which would eliminate the concerns.
Ronnie Brown was on crutches after the game, and if he cannot go the Dolphins will not suffer, as Ricky Williams is still a pretty terrific running back.
Brian Westbrook seems to have suffered another concussion in the Eagles game against the Chargers in Week 10, but the Eagles believe that rookie LeSean McCoy is more than capable of stepping in for Westbrook for the rest of the season, if necessary.
Another starter, Julius Jones of the Seahawks, has had chest problems, and Justin Forsett filled in on Sunday, against Arizona, by running for 113 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.
