The most attractive matchup in the 21st round of the English Premier League is the Liverpool vs Arsenal fixture at Anfield in Liverpool this Wednesday, January 13. The Gunners have a legitimate shot at winning their first league crown in a dozen years while Liverpool has an outside chance at the title. The Reds will more likely be challenging for a top-four spot at the end of the season and a berth in next year’s European Champions League competition.

Arsenal won’t have a full squad to choose from since several players are still out with injuries such as midfielders Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshire as well as forwards Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck. However, there is a chance that Sanchez could be healed in time for the game. Liverpool will also be missing several players due to injuries including Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Martin Skrtel, Divock Origi, Jordan Rossiter, Joe Gomez, Danny Ings and of course Daniel Sturridge.
Liverpool’s currently sits in eighth place in the Premier League with 30 points from eight wins, six draws and six losses. They’ve scored 22 goals and allowed 24 against. The Reds have five victories, three draws and three defeats in their past 11 outings in all competitions with 14 goals scored and 12 conceded. They have three wins in their past five fixtures. At home, Liverpool has four victories, three draws and two defeats in league play with 11 goals for and 11 conceded. They have three clean sheets at Anfield and have been shut out once.
Overall, they have seven clean sheets and have failed to score on five occasions. The Reds have three wins, two draws and just one loss in their past six home outings. However, they’ve had problems scoring of late as they’ve found the back of the net just seven times in their past nine contests.
